Install guide

One Velcro setup, a lifetime of swaps.

Freedom Headliners mount with high-grade automotive Velcro. The first install takes a couple of cure windows and a few minutes of hands-on work. After that, every future panel swap is a press-on, peel-off job that takes seconds. Designs are interchangeable, so the catalog can keep growing on the same hardtop.

Eight steps

Walkthrough.

  1. 01

    Clean surface

Wipe the peaks with rubbing alcohol and allow it to fully dry.

  2. 02

    Lay out Velcro

Match the Velcro strip sizes to the raised peaks on the hard top.

  3. 03

    Install hook side

Peel adhesive backing from the hook (hard scratchy side) and press firmly onto the hard top peaks.

  4. 04

    Let the hook side cure

Allow 24 hours for the hook side adhesive to set properly.

  5. 05

    Attach loop side

Stick the loop (soft) side onto the hook strips. Leave adhesive backing on for now.

  6. 06

    Remove loop backing

Peel adhesive backing from the loop strips once they are attached to the hook strips.

  7. 07

    Install headliners

Carefully align the headliner panels. Press firmly over the hard top peaks to bond the Velcro.

  8. 08

    Cure time

Wait 24 hours before removing or adjusting. If adjustments are needed, do so while temps are 70F or lower.

Tips owners share

Worth knowing.

  • ·

After the first install, changing out panels is a simple process that takes seconds. Swap as often as you want.

  • ·

Designs are interchangeable, so a single Velcro install supports your entire growing collection.

  • ·

Rear panels (4-door JKU, JLU, JT only) install identically. Same process, separate part.

  • ·

Removing later? Pop the panel off, store it flat. The Velcro strips on the hardtop stay in place for next time.

  • ·

Hardtop temps cooler than 70F help the adhesive set best. Park indoors or in the shade for the first 24 hours.
